I gave a peresetation on CMMI today.

The main points of the presentation are

• CMMI focuses on process
• It builds on the premise that improving the process imporves the quality of the product
• CMMI integrated several others CMMs including Software CMM
• CMMI is a framework that lets you define the process - you need to show you cover the CMMI process areas for certification
• Newer methdologies (Agile) focus on people rather than process.
• However considering CMMI is a framework you can map agile processes to CMMI
• You would want to do this (mapping) if you want to introduce agility into CMMI organizations
• Another reasons to mix both approaches is sometimes therese a need to use formal processes but you still want some agility for sub-projects.
